Football Keeps is an independent editorial index of hotels. It exists to describe buildings carefully: what they are made of, when they were built, what their rooms are like, and what sort of stay they are actually shaped for. Nothing more ambitious than that.

How entries are written

Each hotel is written as prose rather than a table of attributes, because a specification grid flattens the very things that distinguish one property from another. The facts we state are general and durable — architecture, setting, format, the character of the public rooms — the kind of thing that remains true from one season to the next. We avoid anything that would need a citation to defend, and we do not publish prices, availability or anything that changes weekly.

What you will not find here

There are no star ratings, no scores, no user reviews and no booking functionality. We are not a travel agent, an affiliate storefront or a reservations service. No property pays to be listed, and no property is consulted about its entry.

The four collections

The index is divided into art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. These are categories of building rather than regions, which is deliberate: the site is geographically neutral and groups properties by what they are, not by where a reader happens to live. Where a genuine category is small — ice hotels most of all — the collection stays small. We would rather publish one honest entry than invent a second.
